We're another week closer to Christmas, and caught up with Lucky Adedoja, one of our awesome Micro Scooters Ambassadors residing in the scenic Geelong with her family of five. Geelong's illuminated charm during the Christmas holidays inspires the family to explore the Botanical Gardens and waterfront on their Micro Scooters. From discovering twinkling lights to cozy movie nights, Lucky shares how their cherished traditions create a magical Christmas atmosphere.

Micro: Merry Christmas, Lucky! Want to start off by introducing yourself and your gorgeous family?

Lucky: We are the Adedoja Family of 5 who live in beautiful Geelong. We moved here from Melbourne after COVID and it was the best decision we ever made. We love being by the sea. We have made wonderful friends and we are only an hour drive from Melbourne. As a family we love to go on road trips to explore new beaches and parks. We love to play ten pin bowling and we enjoy doing modelling and extra work in TVC and movies (our dad does especially).

Micro: Christmas is fast on our heels (😱)! What does the Adeodojas love about the holidays?

Lucky: We adore Christmas. In fact, so much so, that when Geelong officially turns on their Christmas tree in November, we put up our Christmas tree to celebrate. We love driving at night to find the best Christmas lights. We love watching Christmas movies (Santa Clause & Home Alone are our favourites) and we are enjoying our new tradition of our Elf on the Shelf. Our Elf is called Ellie and she can be very cute but cheeky (like us). Christmas to us is about being with family and enjoying the excitement and magic that is in the air.

"Create your own family traditions – whether it is looking for Christmas lights around your home, going to community markets, carols by candlelight. If you have a tradition then it makes everyone more excited for Christmas."

Micro: What Christmas magic is in the air this year?

Lucky: We are hosting Christmas lunch again and we cannot wait! Our aunty, uncle and cousins are coming as well as our Great Aunty and good family friend. We are also having a couple of Christmas lunches with close friends leading up to the day.

Micro: Does your family have any traditions that make the holidays extra special?

Lucky: Our main traditions are having Christmas lunches with friends, driving to see the Christmas lights, Elf on the shelf and having family movie nights.

Micro: That all sounds very cozy! Does your family enjoy getting out and about during the Christmas holidays as well?

Lucky: One of the things that we love the most about Geelong is their love for Christmas. Geelong lights up during this time. Not only do they have a floating Christmas tree that plays music, but they have activities throughout the season. We love as a family exploring the Geelong Botanical gardens and waterfront on our Micro Scooters.

Micro: What Micro Scooters do you have?

Lucky: Mum has the Adult Classic Scooter – which Lucius often rides too – I would recommend this to anyone who hasn’t ridden a scooter before. It is lightweight but you feel like you have balance and control. The girls have the pink Mini Micro Deluxe LED Scooter and they love theirs. I would recommend them as a present because not only are they high quality but they are adjustable as well. So as your child grows, they can grow with them and last for years! The kids helmets are also great quality, with funky and cute designs.

Micro: What's on the kids' Christmas wishlists this year?

Lucky: Anything to do with Lol dolls, yoyos, shoes, clothes – although I am sure Lucius would love to receive his own Classic Adult Scooter haha

Micro: Any secret holiday hacks that help make your holidays run smoothly?

Lucky: We make sure the kids have play dates and are involved with Christmas preparation – which is making cookies and Christmas decorations/activities. We also plan family day outs.

Micro: Any tips or advice for other young families like yours to help bring some extra special Christmas magic to their holidays?

Lucky: Create your own family traditions – whether it is looking for Christmas lights around your home, going to community markets, carols by candlelight. If you have a tradition then it makes everyone more excited for Christmas.

Micro: Lastly, where can people find you on socials?

Lucky: We're @our_cheeky_three on Instagram!
