Repairing or Revamping your Micro Scooter 

One of the best things about Micro is all parts on our scooters are replaceable. Which means most problems can be fixed and your scooter can keep going and going. Remember scooters don't look after themselves, make sure you do regular scooter maintenance to ensure your scooter stays in tip top shape. How to replace scooter wheels

  1. Using the Allen Keys provided in the box with your Scooter undo the axle through the wheel. (If you have difficulty with this please refer to the "Dealing with immovable bolts" on our maintenance page)
  2. If the wheel does not come with bearings either insert new bearings or replace with the bearings from the old wheel. (see below)
  3. If your model has spacers or washers make sure they are in place before replacing the wheel.
  4. Place the Allen Key bolt through the base, wheel and spacers if applicable and tighten.

How to change scooter bearings

  1. Remove the wheel
  2. Pull the old bearings out of the wheel using the short end of the Allen Key as a lever and remove any included spacers
  3. Wipe clean the centre of the wheel to remove any remaining grit
  4. Push one of the new bearings into centre of the wheel (may require a few gentle taps with a hammer)
  5. Turn the wheel over, insert spacer (if necessary) and push new bearing into place
  6. Replace the wheel

Drilling out the axle

  1. If you're having trouble removing an axle you might have to drill it out and replace it with a new one.
  2. Rest the scooter on its side securing it if possible with a clamp or similar.
  3. Use a 19/64 drill (14mm) bit to drill the round head off the bolt.
  4. Slide out the existing axle
  5. You'll need to replace it with a new axle of the same size

How to replace Mini Micro/Maxi Micro T-tube button

  1. Remove any parts that may be left inside the t-tube
  2. Fit the Red or Black plastic push button on the silver spring, ensure that the long flat side of the button is facing away from the bend in the spring (see left)
  3. Push the end of the spring with the bend in it into the handle tube pinching the spring to allow the button to fit inside, you may need to adjust the position slightly until the button pops out the hole in the t-tube
  4. Push the handles into the base, you should hear a click once in place and secure

How to replace B-Bend Spring

  1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, undo the 2 screws on the black plate in the middle of the spring's coils on the underside of the scooter
  2. Remove the broken spring (you might need to prise this out with the end of the screwdriver)
  3. Place the new spring round the ‘O O' bracket shapes ensuring both the long prongs are facing up and fit into the holes in the axle bar
  4. Push the ‘B' bend down so it fits snugly around the brackets (don't be afraid to use a hammer)
  5. Replace the black plate and the 2 screws

How to replace U-Bend Spring

  1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, underneath the scooter undo the single screw in the middle of the spring
  2. Remove the broken spring (you might need to prise this out with the end of the screwdriver)
  3. Place the new spring round the bracket ensuring both the prongs fit into the holes in the axle bar
  4. Push the ‘U' bend down so it fits snugly around the brackets (don't be afraid to use a hammer)
  5. Replace the screw and washer
