Micro Flex Air Scooter

My 13 y.o. Loves it. It absorbs the bumps and is good on the wet. Just make sure the tires are pumped up to the right pressure

The selling feature of this scooter is how smooth the ride is. I have used it over cobblestone and you would think you were riding on smooth tarmac.

I thought the flexible board would be weird, but I'm finding it barely noticeable after a couple of days of use going to work. The flexible board and the air-containing rubber tires really contribute to a incredibly smooth ride.

The folding mechanism is also really well designed, leaving no chance of it folding on you mid use. The handle bars also have a very nice foam material. The break also works pretty well for only being a standard wheel brake.

Only negatives I found, is the handlebars only have one height adjustment setting, which was disappointing in a scooter of this caliber. It also comes with a stand, but the stand is crap (a much cheaper warehouse one I had was far superior, so I've not used the stand much as it just topples over.

Despite those two negatives, I would absolutely recommend this product for anyone needing a boost in their commute, who also have to travel over rough surfaces, like pretty much all of the footpaths in Wellington.

I've been riding a Classic for a couple of years as a commuter, and recently picked up the Flex Air to handle wet and bumpy surfaces a bit better. It delivers on both fronts. The pneumatic tyres grip onto anything and don't slide like the plastic wheels. On the Classic I have to be very careful on anything wet, especially wood. On the Flex Air I can ride just after rain no problem.

The tyres and the flex board even out almost all riding surfaces. Riding on Lambton Quay, or any other paved street, has always been a bit unpleasant on the Classic, and I've tried to avoid it on my commute even if it is my most direct route. I'm not fussed what surface I'm riding on now.

The only things to be aware of if coming from a plastic-wheeled scooter is:

- Because it has more friction the Flex Air is a bit slower than a plastic-wheeled scooter. Especially going up false flats takes more pushing.

- It does handle the wet much better, but braking a wet wheel still isn't great. Going downhill on a wet pavement is still a dicey proposition.

Love it

I love this scooter, I purchased it hoping to get a plusher ride which this scooter delivers. My only complaint is it feels like it flexes a lot more than the regular Micro Flex scooter. I’ve noticed a lot of creaks and much more movement throughout the scooter than the regular Flex but luckily I’m not a heavy person. Only other complaint and this is for both Flex scooters I own is that the headsets were not set correctly out of the box, my regular Flex was loose and required tightening whilst the Flex Air was way too tight and needed loosening.

Other than those minor complaints these are very high quality scooters which I would highly recommend :)
